Empower History: I began with Empower in April of 2021, it was my first job out of school and I have always felt lucky to have started my career here! I quickly began training to specialize in Pelvic and Women’s Health and have enjoyed growing my knowledge and skills to reach out further into what is a very underserved population.

Background and Inspiration:
What inspired you to be a PT? I was a Student Athletic Trainer throughout high school, which introduced me to the idea of Sports Medicine. I have always been passionate about sports and having an active lifestyle and wanted to help people to be able to get back to doing the things that they love, whatever that might be!
Where did you go to PT school? Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in Provo, UT
What do you enjoy most about your role? I love seeing and hearing the slow transformation of my patients as they learn and get to know and understand their bodies better. It is fun to see the ‘enlightenment moments’ where everything clicks, especially when treating the pelvic population.
What brought you to Alaska/ back to Alaska after moving/ kept you here? Ultimately, the mountains! I knew from a young age that the Midwest just wasn’t going to cut it. After solidifying my passion for the outdoors while living in Utah, I looked at jobs in Alaska on a whim and loved what I saw in Empower. I applied, got an offer, and my bags were packed!
What are your passions outside of work? I love being active outdoors. Mountain biking, bikepacking, snowboarding/backcountry, snowmachining, paddle boarding, and cross-country skiing keep me busy throughout the year! I also love to cook and bake, read, and travel.
