Background and Inspiration:
Raised with a father in the Navy so I’ve lived all over the Lower 48. Most of my home roots reside in Tennessee. I went to undergrad in Alabama at Faulker University where I played college soccer. I got lucky enough to play semi-pro soccer in the PDL for the Nashville Metros. I eventually went to PT school in WV. As I finished my school, I moved to Nashville, TN to work with professional athletes in the MLB and NFL as well as many college and high school athletes. After that experience my family decided to take on Alaska as a short adventure but after living here for the first year, we didn’t want to leave. My wife and I now have 2 amazing girls and enjoy every bit of Alaska
What inspired you to be a PT? I took anatomy in high school and changed my whole life goals to pursue a medical career. In learning more about PT, I found this was the best field to work with people and help them in overcoming the struggles with pain and loss of function to improve their lives as best as I could.
Where did you go to PT school? Marshall University, Huntington, WV
What is your background and experience in this industry? 8.5 yrs of outpatient ortho. 4yrs as a OCS.
What do you enjoy most about your role? Treating anyone and everyone to help reduce pain and improve function to return to all activities and more
What brought you to Alaska/ back to Alaska after moving/ kept you here? I sought adventure for a short time and then returned to Lower 48, but Alaska grabbed ahold of my family, and we love it. We don’t plan on leaving anytime soon
Passions within PT: I love all populations and talking with people at every walk of life. Everyone has a story to tell. I specifically love my kids! I treat from newborn to all ages, but the kids are the most fun to treat and play around with. Session turns into fun experiences and less “doctor office” visits
Family overview: I’ve been married for over 10yrs to my wonderful wife Meredith and have 2 daughters. I love getting my kids outside in Alaska as well as spending time in the dance studio as they learn tumbling and ballet.
What are your passions outside of work? I’m an avid hunter and outdoorsman. I shoot archery at any spare time I get. I enjoy hiking and camping as much as I can and getting my girls out on the trail. I spend my time as an active member of my church. As well as a member in the Valley’s soccer community as a player and referee.
