Empower History: I have been at Empower for almost 2 years. I started as a technician and slowly transitioned into the Lead ANC FOC.
What is your background and experience in this industry? I went to Boise State and Studied Kinesiology (Study of movement). My original goal was for become a PT, however, I have learned to enjoy the administrative side of the profession
What do you enjoy most about your role? I enjoy so many things in this role. I enjoy how rewarding it is to watch patients go from walker, cane, then no assistance. When patients come in with high pain and leave with no pain. But probably my favorite part is when our pelvic floor patients return post-partum with their bundles of joy!
What brought you to Alaska/ back to Alaska after moving/ kept you here? I was born and raised here in Anchorage. While I thought when I left for college that I would never return, my boyfriend at the time (now husband) received a job opportunity that brought us both back home. Now, we are enjoying all that Alaska has to offer, from an adult perspective.
Family: My parents spent over 20 years in AK raising my twin sister, Jess, and I here in Anchorage. However, upon graduating High School, they promptly left to move back to my mother’s hometown in Indiana. They now live on a beautiful rural piece of property with their “forever home” they built over these last couple years. And while I do not have any direct family of my own up here, my husband’s whole family lives here making it a little easier when I miss mine.
What are your passions outside of work? I enjoy rock climbing, shooting (Trap, Skeet, Sporting Clays) and most recently Golf.
