Rebekah McConnell, PT, DPT

Hometown: Born and raised in Rowlett, Texas, now living in Palmer AK
Background and Inspiration:
- What inspired you to be a PT? I always knew when I was younger that I would want to get into the medical field. Through sports injuries of my own, I fell in love with the PT profession. I loved how my PTs made it possible for me to return to the sport I loved playing. I wanted to be able to make that same difference in my own patients life’s.
- Where did you go to PT school? Texas Woman’s University – Dallas
- What is your background and experience in this industry? In college and during PT school I worked as a PT tech at various outpatient clinics. In school I had clinical rotations in several outpatient clinics and an inpatient rehab facility.
- What do you enjoy most about your role? I love being able to connect with my patients and learning what they love to do. With that I can tailor their care to what they love to get them back to their passion.
- What brought you to Alaska/ back to Alaska after moving/ kept you here? I have always wanted to move somewhere where there are mountains. My husband and I wanted to explore the beauty of Alaska and take on an adventure. We love to camp, hike, fish, and hunt and could not think of a better place to experience that.
