Shelby Jimenez , PTA
Shelby Jimenez is a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) who joined the Empower Physical Therapy team in July 2017. She grew up in a small town in Southeastern Idaho, then moved to Alaska when she was 14 and has been here ever since. Following high school, Shelby attended Brigham Young University – Idaho, where she pursued various degrees, searching for something to allow her to help and serve others. After a few semesters, she took a break from school to serve an 18-month mission for her church, during which time her love for serving others grew. Shelby then returned to Alaska, where she met her husband and came across the Physical Therapist Assistant program at UAA. She knew that this was what she was searching for. She graduated from the UAA in December 2016, and a few months later eagerly accepted a position with Empower . Shelby loves being a part of the healing process and “Empowering” her patients to do activities they were not able to do prior to rehab.
When she is not helping patients, Shelby enjoys going to movies with her husband, Jacob, and spending time with their two daughters, Abby and Piper. Shelby also enjoys reading, baking, and quilting, whenever free time allows!
